MEC Design are pleased to announce the release of their full exhaust system for the much loved “Young Timer” V8’s of the W126. The S Class models run through the very blood of MEC Design and the release of their exhaust for all V8 of the W126 indicates just that.
The W126 was first released back in 1979 and was produced through until 1989 in what some would say was the “Golden Age” of Mercedes-Benz. The W126 was sleeker and more aerodynamic than the W116 thanks to the design of Bruno Sacco (wind tunnel testing to reduce overall drag meant the car consumed about 10% less fuel than its predecessor).
The stainless steel exhaust is available as a full system which includes the middle muffler and the rear muffler. It is designed to fit all models of theV8 W126, the SE “shorty”, the SEL “longbody” or the two door SEC Coupe version. That means all the engine from 380/ 420/ 500 and also the 560. You can have the exhaust in two sound versions like all MEC Design exhausts. Also you have the choice between the OEM tips –so it looks like factory- or you can have them with 100mm rounded or 106mm oval chrome tips.
The exhaust sounds amazing but don’t just listen to us, watch the video and see for yourselves. A MEC Design exhaust might not be an original replacement for the hardcore W126 fans but it is certainly an exhaust that will make sure that it is heard and let your W126 shine again like when it was released. After all, isn’t everything from the 80’s making a comeback.
